Description
The wheels' manufacturer Hayes Lemmerz is to close its plant located in Hoboken, Antwerp employing more than 300 people. It was an important provider of wheels for the main automobile manufacturer of the region such as BMW, Mercedes and Ford. Because of the decrease of production in the automobile industry and the decision of Ford to bring its aluminum production from low wages countries, Hayes Lemmerz had been experiencing a decrease in demand as a result. Hayes Lemmerz is a subsidiary of the industrial holding Punch International.
