Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 15 January 2009, Bang & Olufsen, a Denmark-based producer of electronic audio and video equipment, announced that it is to cut 110 jobs at the headquarters in Struer by the end of September 2009 (Denmark). The management explains that the current economic crisis and a lower level of activity have forced the company to restructure its workforce. Worldwide Bang & Olufsen cuts 220 jobs out of 2,550. It is not known the number employed in Denmark.
