Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Logitech, one of the world's leaders in manufacturing digital devices, is to cut 500 jobs by the end of June 2009. According to the company, its decision is mainly due to the global financial crisis. The job-losses shouldn't affect the Logitech site located in China.
Logitech is one of the main manufacturers of personal peripherals, driving innovation in PC navigation, Internet communications, digital music, home-entertainment control, gaming and wireless devices. It is headquartered in Switzerland and it has more than 9,000 employees worldwide.
