The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Polska Kasa Oszczędności (PKO BP), the state-owned Polish bank, plans to make 1,700 employees (out of a total workforce of 29,800) redundant by the end of 2009. The group redundancies will affect the head office in Warsaw as well as branches across Poland. PKO BP has been restructuring its employment since 2000, eliminating approximately 1,500 jobs every year.
