Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Atlas Copco Rock Drills AB have decided to issue a notice to 370 blue-and whitecollared employees because of the heavily decreased number of orders. The notice is part of a larger restructuring measure that the company has decided to implement due to the weakening market. Roger Sandström, CEO, says that the prospects does not look good and therefore they have to take to drastic measures to save the company.
Atlas Copco Rock Drills AB in Örebro is part of the Atlas Copco Group business area Construction and Mining and Technique (CMT). They develop and manufacture drills for the mining- tunnel- and contracting industries. Atlas Copco in Örebro has about 1,600 employees.
