Peab Sweden has issued a notice to 195 employees to cope with lower demand and instability in the construction market, especially in the Stockholm region. 140 of them are blue-collared and 55 are white-collared. According to the Human Resources department, the market has declined because there is no demand for buying newly built apartments in Stockholm today. The hope is to implement a strategy for the redundant employees, but it is inevitable that some of the workers have to be let go, reported the chief of information Niclas Brantingson in an interview.
Peab Housing has 800 employees in Sweden and it is owned by Peab Group. Peab Housing belongs to the Construction division of Peab Group. Peab Group is one of the Nordic countries' leading companies in the field of construction and civil engineering. Group net sales are about SEK 30 billion and they have about 12,000 employees.
