Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
BE Group, a leading trading and service company offering a broad range of steel, stainless steel and aluminium, is to cut about 120 jobs primarily in Sweden, Finland, Poland and Latvia. The job reduction stems from the implementation of a cost-saving programme to face reduced demand and uncertain market prospects. In doing so, the company aims at reducing total annual costs by approximately SEK 100 million over a two-year period. Negotiations with trade unions have started.
