Description
On 15 December 2008, Bosch and Ersol Solar Energy announced to create around 1,100 jobs by 2012. Approximately 530 million euros are to be invested into the manufacturing of crystalline solar cells and modules in Arnstadt. A new factory, shop and administrative building will be set up. In additon, already existing research and manufacturing facilities are to be extended. Ersol and Bosch plan to start production at the beginning of 2010. Job creation is to be completed by 2012. Since summer 2008, Bosch is the majority stakeholder at Ersol Solar Energy. The business daily Financial Time Deutschland stated that the new investment was made to lower Bosch’s dependence on orders form the automobile industry.
