European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
VTK Cylinders, a producer of steel cylinders for compressed gases, has created 130 new jobs with the development of a new site in Ostrava, Czech Republic. VTK Cylinders is a subsidiary of the Czech leading machinery group Vítkovice Holding. The site will focus on the production of steel cylinders for compressed gases.
It was also reported that a further new business is to set up in Poland (Bielsko-Biala) through a Polish subsidiary VTK Milmet at the beginning of 2009. It is expected that the Czech production of small ship shafts will be moved to that new Polish plant because of lower production costs.
