Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Halfords, a retailer of car parts, car enhancements and bicycles, has announced that it is to cut 200 jobs in its stores across the UK and another 50 jobs at it head office in Redditch in Worcestershire.The company employs around 10,000 people at its network of 433 stores across the UK. As of 7 December 2008, it is not known when or at which stores the cuts will take place.
