Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
German shoemaker Gabor is to close its production unit at Liptovsky Mikulas where 410 employees will be made redundant. Dismissals will be finalised by the end of March 2009. Company management decided to close the plant due to the lack of qualified workers and the high staff turnover which has harmed production quality. Gabor management intends to centralise its shoe production in Slovakia in its main unit in Bánovce nad Bebravou.
