Tollpost Globe, owned by the Swedish postal company Posten AB, has announced that it is to reduce costs by NOK 160 Million in 2009 by cutting around 100 permanent jobs and 40 temporary jobs.
The downsizing will be implemented through the use of severance pay packages; the management and the union expect no need for direct dismissals. The union representatives stated that the process has been run smoothly and the union is satisfied with the decision of avoiding dismissals. The downsizing will start from 1st of December; no timeline has been given as to when these redundancies will be implemented by.
