European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Galway-based refrigerated transport unit manufacturer, Thermo King, is to reduce its workforce by 110 as part of a restructuring exercise. The company has indicated that the job losses are attributable to the economic slowdown, as well as recent fluctuations in the value of the euro against the dollar. It is intended that the redundancies will be achieved through a combination of voluntary redundancies, and the suspension and non-renewal of temporary contracts.
