Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Broadcasting company Antenna Hungária is to lay off 14% of its workforce (100 jobs) as of January 2009. The restructuring will affect mainly jobs in administration and maintenance-related functions.
The core activities of the company include national land television and radio broadcasting and distribution, as well as satellite broadcasting and distribution. The company stated that the reason behind the restructuring is that the company is seeking to “maintain its financial capacity, given the increasing pressure coming from regulations on analogue national terrestrial radio and television broadcasting, as well as the decisions of some clients, affecting company revenues”.
