Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Nokia Siemens, the joint venture telecommunication networks, has announced that it is to cut 1,820 jobs, mainly in Finland and Germany. The company which currently employs 60,200 employees around the world, is undergoing its restructuring plan and is planning to dismiss 750 people in Finland and to close one centre in Germany (Munich) with 500 workers and to sell another German business unit with 500 employees to its local management. The remaining job cuts are to be implemented in Egypt and United States.
