Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Car part manufacturer Livarna Vuzenica, based in Vuzenica in Northern Slovenia is to cut 440 jobs. Due to decreased demand, which is a consequence of recent recession trends, it has already already fired 40 foreign workers and will not prolong fixed-term contracts for another 41 employees. The company, which produces flywheels, exhaust manifolds, pump housings, redactors, central housings, brake drums, etc. is part of the Slovenian group Cimos.
