Online games company, Goa, is to create 400 jobs in a European customer and operations support centre to be set up in Dublin. The centre will provide support in five languages for what are called Massively Multi-player Online Role-Playing Games (MMORPG). Goa, which is the games division owned by mobile phone company Orange, has been steadily increasing market share and has recently done a deal with Mythic Entertainment to give backup for its game called “Warhammer: Age of Reckoning” – named MMORPG of the year. Goa’s objectives are to create an online community from all over Europe interested in online games. Currently, all of their games are free to download and free to play and players can be competing online against other players from all over Europe in just a few minutes. Speaking at the launch, David Ryan, Managing Director of Goa (Ireland) said “Ireland has a strong internet infrastructure and a young, educated and creative population. It is the ideal location to gather a highly educated, multilingual team to provide the best services and support to our very large customer base, partners and customers across Europe”. No timeline was given for the job creation.
