Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Whirlpool, the world’s leading manufacturer of home appliances, is to cut 5,000 jobs. The majority of the job cuts will affect the company’s sites located in the United States, while around 1,000 job cuts will be implemented at European sites. Whirlpool has around 73,000 employees worldwide, of which 14,000 are employed in Europe.
