Beaulieu International Group, a manufacturer of carpets and rugs will cut 387 jobs on two of its sites in the Flemish region. One site will be totally closed (Ninove) and the site of Wielsbeke (Floor coverings) will be restructured. Beaulieu employs in Belgium more than 4,000 people. As for the other numerous textile industries in Belgium, Beaulieu knew for several years a decrease in the demand for carpets and the increasing production costs caused an important overcapacity that demanded an important restructuring.
