Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Kaufland Romania, hypermarket operator, part of German group Schwarz, present in Romania since 2005, may increase the number of its employees by 10,000 on the local market, by the end of 2009. At present, the company has 6,000 employees. The plan is to hire 700 persons in the course of 2008 and 3,000 persons in 2009. In 2007 the sales totalled 641.6 million euros, as compared to 232 million euros in 2006.
