Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Grupa Kęty, the aluminium manufacturer, is planning a series of employment restructuring in the face of slackening demand for its products. It will shed 300 jobs (out of a total workforce of 3,000) by the end of 2008. Kęty’s products include aluminium frames, piping, wires, rods, and packaging (for customers, among other industries, in foodstuffs and in pharmaceuticals).
