European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Spanish home furnishings company Merkamueble has announced that the group is planning to expand onto the French market after opening its first store in the country in Nimes in June 2008. The company has invested a total of 10 millions euros in its French site, which also includes a warehouse and logistics facility, and plans to recruit around 110 new members of staff in Nimes over the next three years.
Merkamueble is aiming to open around 100 stores in France by 2012 and is currently looking into potential sites in Montpellier, Avignon and Marseilles.
