European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
An American medical devices multinational, Abiomed, is to create 250 new jobs over the next 18 months in a new plant in Athlone in the Irish Midlands.
The plant will manufacture a product for patients suffering acute heart failure. Abiomed is based in Massachusetts, and specialises in medical technologies designed to assist or replace the pumping of the heart.
