Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 11 August 2008, the German daily Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reported that a first investor for the former Nokia location in Bochum was found. The producer of scanners, Scanbull Vertical Images was to produce its new production line of scanners in Bochum. In a first step, around 150 jobs shall be created. Scanbull stated that it would privilege former Nokia employees over other job candidates on the condition of equal qualifications. As of August 2008, there is no information on when the new jobs will be created by.
