Description
OP Prostějov, a well-established Czech firm which produces clothing, has announced that it is to cut at least 500 jobs from a total of 2,500 in its parent plant in Prostějov. The company will offshore part of the production to cheaper producers in Asia and cites the current strength of the Czech currency as one of the factors contributing to the job losses. This year, the firm has already closed its daughter plants in the Czech Republic with a loss of about 1,000 jobs.
