Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The pharmaceutical company Glaxo Smith Kline has announced the closure of its manufacturing site in Fleurus (Hainaut) in December 2009 and the relocation of its activities to Rixensart (Brabant Wallon). Out of 290 workers employed at the site, 70 will take early retirement; it is still unknown the number of workers who will be offered to work at the site of Rixensart.
