Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Alcoa Fujikura, a manufacturer of wiring harness systems for automotive industry, has announced 844 jobs cuts out of 2,050 staff in its Stříbro plant by the end of July 2008 due to ongoing customer order decline. The restructuring measures are also related to the company's decision to move part of its production to Romania. The management entered into negotiations with trade unions about social protection programmes for dismissed workers.
