Richter Gedeon, an Hungarian drug producer, will build a biotechnology plant in Debrecen with the investment of HUF 15 billion (€64.75 million) as part of its R&D strategy. The new plant, which will employ 110 people, will start producing samples for clinical testing in 2012 and enter production in 2014. The company will receive an unspecified amount of state subsidy as well as subsidies from the local government of Debrecen. It is expected that the new plant and the local university will co-operate closely, expecially in the field of training.
