Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

American Airlines has announced a reduction of its workforce worldwide due to increasing energy prices this year. The company´s management has informed trade unions about its intention to dismiss up to 900 people in early September 2008. The firm has also announced that over 6,800 workers ( i.e. 8 percent of the staff) might lose their jobs by the end of 2008.
