The management of Doux, the French poultry breeder leader in Europe, has announced at a Works Councils meeting, that it plans a restructuring in some of its sites, which will cut more than 700 jobs. Three sites will be closed down: Locminé (451 jobs), Châtelet (154 jobs) and Pleucadeuc (62 jobs). A few months ago the management had explained the difficulties encountered by the group in the light of increasing prices of cereals and energy on the one hand, and the euro-dollar parity, which is penalizing for such a group specialized on export, on the other.
