The group Bekaert, a manufacturer of wire products, has announced that it is to cut 136 jobs with the closure of its plant at Lanklaar in Limburg. Bekaert states that the decision to close the plant is due to increased competition and the difficulty to keep low prices. However, two new plants will be build, respectively in Russia and China.
