Description
Meteo France, the weather forecast organisation, has announced that it is to close more than half of its centers (about 60 out of 115) in France. As a result, between 550 and 1000 jobs will be cut by the end of 2017. To date, the management does not intend to implement direct dismissals, but rather not to renew the lost positions of those who would retire. The unions’ representatives attributed these cuts to the new national trend: the curtailment of the costs in the public sector. It is feared that job cuts will concern thousand of employees.
