Description
On 13 May 2008 the French Group Renault announced the opening of a gear box factory - Renault Mecanique Roumanie - in Mioveni near Pitesti and the creation of 342 new jobs. It is expected that the number of employees will increase up to 440 by the end of 2008 and 660 by the end of 2009. This business expansion involved an investment of EUR 146 million and additional EUR 68 million will be invested in the new factory by the end of 2010. As a result of this large investment, Renault Mecanique Roumanie is expected to produce approximately 10,000 gear boxes/week by the end of 2009.
