Sogefi, an Italian group worldwide leader in the car vehicles components and specialised in filtration systems and suspensions flexible components, is to close its plant located in Mantua, with the consequent loss of 230 jobs. The company has taken this decision in order to offshore its production to other plants located in Slovenia, Spain and Wales. The trade unions reacted to the company’s decision by going out on strike and organising several actions of protest. Sogefi is a multinational company, partner of the most important car manufacturers in the world. It is present in 13 countries with several plants and offices and it is headquartered in Italy. It has around 6,200 employees worldwide. Its core business revolves round two sectors of activity: filters and flexible suspension components. Sogefi is controlled by CIR, an industrial holding company of the De Benedetti Group.
