The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
On 31 March 2008, Telenor, a Norwegian telecommunication company which is partly state-owned, announced the loss of approximately 100 jobs across all its units in Norway. As of 30 April, 70 employees were dismissed and received a severance pay. The job cuts are attributed to the financial losses made by the company in 2007 and the need to reduce costs within the mobile phone operations by around NOK 500 million.
