Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Food processor Atria has concluded its personnel negotiations regarding 90 employees at its Forssa plant and 140 employees at the Kannus plant.
All operations in Kannus plant will be shut down, so all 140 employees are made redundant. In addition, 30 employees from Forssa plant will be laid off, so total of 170 employees are made redundant.
Production of all-meat products and cold cut products will be transferred from Forssa to Nurmo while production of convenience foods will stay in Forssa. All operations concerning butchery will be shut down at the Kannus factory and operations will be transferred to Nurmo and Kuopio factories.
Atria Group employs total of 5900 employees, of which 2300 in Finland.
