Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
An engineering company specialising in manufacturing equipment for oil and gas drilling rigs has announced the creation of 140 jobs in Longford town, in the Irish midlands region. Cameron Ireland plans to invest €15 million in its existing midlands plant, which currently employs about 220 people, as part of a five-year expansion plan.
Cameron Ireland has bene located in Longford since 1978. It is owned by Cameron International Corporation, which designs and manufactures products for the oil and gas industry, and employs 12,400 people globally.
