US company Lancaster Laboratories plans to expand its existing plant in County Waterford. It is envisaged that the new investment will result in the creation of 100 positions over the next five years. Most of these positions will be at PhD, Masters and graduate level - in other words, highly skilled. The announcement follows on from its recent takeover of Irish company Microchem Labs, which already employs 100 people in Waterford. Following the acquisition of Microchem, the company will now be known as Lancaster Laboratories Europe.
