Description
The Portucel Soporcel Group, a Portuguese pulp and paper manufacturer, has announced that it is to create a new paper factory in Setubal creating 350 jobs for qualified workers. Another 1,700 will be created by the company’s suppliers. The Prime Minister underlined the importance of the new paper factory because of the investment of EUR 550 million and its impact in terms of increasing exports and job creation. The building of the factory will result in the creation of another 1,200 jobs. As of April 2008, there is no information whether a single or multiple employers will create the 1,200 new jobs for the construction of the site.
