Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
150 new jobs will be created by 2010 by Trumpf Österreich, the Austrian subsidiary of the German family-owned machine tool manufacturer and laser-technology specialist. The company, which reports flourishing business figures and expects a considerable growth in turnover for 2008, plans to invest some € 30 million at its site in Pasching (Upper Austria) in order to double its current production plant area. The construction works should be finalised by June 2008. At present, the firm employs a workforce of approximately 350 workers.
