Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Taipei Electronic, a Taiwanese computer LCD screen manufacturer, has announced that it is to create up to 3,000 new jobs in the Joseph industrial zone (Havraň) near the city of Most with the development of a new plant. The foreign investor ensures that production will be launched within a year after obtaining the building permit. In a first phase, approximately 400 new jobs will be created. According to local labour office, the announcement of this project is very good news for the region with the highest unemployment rate in the Czech Republic. As of March 2008 there is no information on when employment at the new plant will commence and when the new jobs will be created by.
