Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Celtex Company, a Slovak firm that produces sanitary goods and toilet requisites, is to expand its production by opening a new plant in Rožňava. It first announced in November 2007 that it would invest SKK 260 million and create 150 new jobs there. Now, Celtex management announced that it will increase the investment up to SKK 400 million and the number of new jobs has been revised to at least 300. Employment effect start and timeline have not yet been announced.
The main company is located in Ivánka pri Dunaji near Bratislava and has been in operation since 1922. The Celtex share of the local sanitary goods market is about 15% and the company management plans to increase this by the establishment of a new production unit. Part of production is exported to multinational retail chains operating in Europe.
