Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The clothing chain Kiabi, which is part of the Mulliez Group, has announced that it is to create more than 270 new jobs by developing logistics facilities at its Douai site between March 2009 and December 2011.
Local authorities in the Douai district of northern France have signed the contract for the sale of an area of 15.7 ha in a local business park to Kiabi, which is investing 41 millions Euros plans in the development of the new facilities. Building work is expected to be completed in March 2009. By 2012, Kiabi is expected to employ 270 permanent and 80 temporary staff at the site.
