Description
The German glass, porcelain and ceramics manufacturer Rosenthal announced to cut 300 jobs in April 2009. The job cuts are part of a restructuring programme following the company's declaration of insolvency in January 2009. Rosenthal had to file for insolvency in the wake of the collapse of its parent company Waterford Wedgwood. At the time, Rosenthal had already announced the loss of 170 jobs at its Bavarian plants by the end of March 2009. Concerning the new job cuts, the insolvency practitioner at Rosenthal stated that the present restructuring measures were necessary to close the deal with a potential new buyer.
