Airbus Nantes, part of European aircraft manufacturer Airbus, has announced plans to invest 500 millions Euros in its plant in Nantes, thus creating 3,000 jobs over the next five years. The factory Airbus Nantes currently employs 2,020 people. The plant's management said that there are concerns in Europe over the transfer of Airbus operations abroad to cope with the impact of the weakening US Dollar. In February 2007, the CEO of European aircraft manufacturer Airbus announced its restructuring plan, 'Power 8'. The company was planning to cut 3,700 jobs. Airbus is part of European Aeronautic Defence & Space Co.
