Unilever, a multi-national group that produces a range of domestic, hygiene, and food products, has announced that it is to cut 190 jobs in Germany within the next two years. Job cuts in Germany are part of Unilever’s global restructuring programme.
Unilever currently employs some 1,000 employees in Germany. The restructuring programme affecting business activities in Germany, Switzerland and Austria will be managed at the group’s headquarters in Hamburg.
In May 2007, the group announced the cut of 20,000 jobs worldwide (see related world factsheet).
