ORF, the Austrian public broadcasting organization, has announced that it is to cut 400 jobs across Austria. The organization employs 4,400 across Austria, and the job losses will be achieved through a policy of non-recruitment of new personnel. Alexander Wrabetz, the Managing Director of the organization, published an announcement outlining the plan in the Austrian newspaper 'Der Standard’ on 14th November 2007. Heinz Fiedler, the head of the organization’s works council, has complained that the works council has not received adequate information about the plans.
