Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Wacker Schott Solar, a recently founded joint venture between the silicon producer Wacker and glass producer Schott, has announced that it is to create 600 new jobs with the development of a site in Jena. The new site will produce wafers for use in the manufacturing of solar cells, and will involve an investment of 300 million EUR. The construction of the new site is scheduled to be completed by 2012.
