Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Fibracolor, a Spanish textile dye firm, has announced that it is to cut 280 jobs with the closure of its facility on July 31 after negotiating the economic compensation with its workers. The firm, jointly owned by Inditex and the regional government of Catalonia, employed 280 workers. Last November the firm initially considered only a reduction of 150 jobs, but the impossibility of ensuring continuity of the activity has led to the decision to close the firm permanently.
