European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
El Corte Inglés, a Spanish department store chain, has announced that it has created 639 new jobs in Jaen with the opening of a new store on 29th November 2007. The new store measures approximately 85,000 square metres. The firm has stated that other sites in Jaen, where 247 are employed, will continue to operate. Small businesses within the city have voiced concern as to the impact that the new store will have upon their trade within the city.
